Chamber end seals & supplies
A chamber system is only as good as its end seals. When they leak or drag, you get ink on the floor, heat at the seal face and deposits that make it worse.
PrimeBlade's PrimeSeals range covers six seal types for different inks, speeds and chamber designs, and PrimeSupplies adds the practical items — blade cutters, angle gauges and lubrication grease.
Chamber end seals
Flexi-LF
is an extra-long-lasting end seal especially for high-speed printing, even beyond 400m/min. The top radius of the seal, on which the anilox roller rotates, has a special low-friction insert that increases the anti-frictional properties of the seal.
LD-40
LD 40 The LD 40 material is a polyethylene synthetic foam, a versatile end-seal, suitable for almost all applications and inks. Exchanging the seal after use is recommended rather than cleaning it.
Longlife
This seal is made from thermo-impregnated felt, which results in an extremely long lifetime. There is a variety of felt types and choosing the right is very important. Felt seals require a very precise adaption and geometrical precision to work reliably, because of its very low restoring force.
NW
The NW material is a stiff polymer which can be used for all ink systems. The geometry of some doctor blade chamber systems requires a rather thin seal, which makes the NW material ideal for these conditions. NW is also known for very good sealing results in connection with UV inks.
Universal
Some chamber systems require very complex shaping of the end-seals, which is best realized by injection molded rubber. These end seals are very wear resistant and can be used in various applications.
ZVK
The ZVK seal is based on synthetic rubber with a very long lifetime. ZVK is often used for oil based or UV inks. It is stiffer than other seals but has good shape memory. Most rubbers are sensitive to light and air, which is why it must always be stored properly packed and protected. Prolonged exposure will deteriorate the material.
Air-80
Air 80 Our Air 80 material is special synthetic with very high restoring force and a very good chemical stability. We recommend it in combination with the use of solvent-based inks, but it is also suitable for water-based applications. For high-speed printing machines, the sealing surface can be coated with PTFE.
Cutters, gauges and grease
PrimeBlade Cutter
The PrimeBlade cutter simplifies the cutting of blades into exact lengths. Together with the doctor blade cassette, it makes the blade handling very easy and efficient. The cutter is produced with high quality knives, made from special steel. Constructed for optimized shipping.

Angle Gauge
Setting the correct blade angle is of utmost importance to secure a high quality print and to minimize the wear on the doctor blade. We therefore proudly offer our angle gauge, that helps gravure printers to easily set the correct blade angle. The angle gauge is highly portable and can be kept in a pocket – a handy tool to use when changing doctor blades.
Lubrication grease for seals
Lubrication grease is a necessary complement to end seals, both for reduction of friction between the seal and anilox but also to secure a tight and precise fit of the seal in the chamber. We recommend running the print press only with thorough application of grease to all sides of the end-seal before installation. Supplied in 100 ml or 250 ml tube.
